Roof bars?

I think that's what they're called

I have the 3 door XEI (Sept 04) model and like the bars that just run down the back (half way along the roof).

I hope you know what I mean. I'm not sure if they are roof racks or bars. Can anyone please advise so that I know what I'm asking for. I'd like to get a set. Thanks.

hi jenny,

if you buy from a dealer the set normally comes as a whole. the 'rails' fit securely to the Freelander, but the only way it is usable is to get the two cross-bars, which form the 'rack' part of the complete ensemble. without these, you can't secure enything to it! these also lock onto the rack and should come with a protective case for storage when not fixed on the bars.

actually, could't resist a quick look on ebay as i know these can be quite pricy from LR. It looks as though you could save yourself c. 500 quid if you're willing to go the ebay way.....

thanks dougaldog - always on the look out for a bargain even on ebay they're about £250. Cant believe LR charge so much for a couple of roof bars
