Road Rage and Wing Mirror victim......

Simon1975, "innocence" or "guilt" is totally irrelevant as far as this matter is concerned, according to the police, who have now taken statements - the other driver Failed To Stop at the scene of an accident - this is a statutory offence under the Road Traffic Act, and one which the police like as it raises their "solved / detected" crime stats nicely. It has no bearing on the matter as to whether the other driver was irritated by having to wait for me to park or not - fact is, he overtook me while I was parking - a rather dodgy and stupid manoever in a narrow little seaside town single lane road anyhow, and collided with my car in so doing, then failed to stop to exchange details or see if there were any injuries, after the accident. "Proving innocence" is really totally irrelevant, he simply failed to stop as required by law. End of.

The damage to the car is really to the outer mirror housing - I retrieved the bits from the road and glued them together so everything is working as it should again, but ideally would like to source an undamaged housing which Gemsdad is helping with at present.

Go for it, & hopefully you'll cause him some serious hassle & make him think twice about ever doing that to anyone again even if somehow he did get off with it. He'll spend a few sleepless nights crapping himself over it anyway.

report report, its your only way of getting even, Karma and all that. Do you guys in general notice other car drivers beeping at landrovers (imparticular my defender 90). Other day was going round round about and went down the road, and someone beeped, and looked behind, a car looking like it had stoped on the road after the roundabout. hmmm.

CROMER? NORTH NORFOLK, road rage, would never have though it, but then again if he camper, he was prob from some far away lands.

lol I reported someone once, some dude in his big transit van tried to push his way in front of me in my car (saxo) at the time, but im rather stuborn and kept going (I was in front and had right of way, in my mind). He ended up driving on pavement, and then persued to chase me down and try to force me off road in to some fencing (this is in Norwich, capital of Norfolk if you will) Then at traffic lights, he jumped out and started banging on my door. I made a movement to get something (which was nothing) but trying to give him impression I was tooling up, he soon left and drove off. He ended up with a caution, but took a good two weeks, after interviewing witness (my friends on board) and so on. What a shore.

Caution for banging on door, not for the driving, or anything like that. As apparently we could make that stuff up, one against one, but he must have admited to geting out of car. So you need him to admit to it? The law is a bitch sometimes.

just been reading your post, i agree, i'd beat the crap out him too, only after i clumped his caravan on the o/s rear quater and tipped him over, boy would he be ****ed , but if nothing comes from the old bill, your get a very warm and loving letter for them saying ,YOU HAVE BEEN A VICTIM OF CRIME , AND WE LOVE YOU,but what they really mean is , **** off who gives a ****, lol ......you really should have tipped him over, better luck next time ... Rob

I'm in the process of complaining about 1970's style policing-nothing like threatening to be stitched up.

I've given them a chance at a local resolution, hopefully the inspector will do a reasonable job-because If it gets brushed under the carpet= look out.

would you guys seriously do anything to the driver, if you was in that position. The bloody consequences of such implication stop me doing such things. I hate having a conscious, and you just know you get in trouble, and they be whistling away, but possible with a brocken jaw :).
