Ride Height- Too High

I have never seen space savers on a Landrover, but I have seem them on cars, and they were the same diameter as standard wheels, although much thinner.
As you say, they are limited to 50mph.

I won’t say the Freelander word then;):eek:
Yes agree always thinner, but I would question the alway same diameter or as a legal issue. Not best practice as I said earlier on a 4x4.

By the way guys not trying to start a bun fight or for the watchers to get the popcorn out:eek::D:D

I don't know what he is trying to do. But in practice, lift kits and spacers always start a bunfight.:)

Just a thought (pre bun fight ), I don’t know who put the kit on or how they set it up. Is it worth me getting the geometry checked, someone mentioned castor earlier but the whole lot could be out. My blonde question of the day delivered

Ours also came as is and we don’t go to far and certainly don’t get up much speed;) it’s really a fun car, and more use in the winter. Rather than put 1 of the others in the ditch:)

I was always under the impression that at +2 you could get away with it anymore and you were pushing your luck.
I fink @300bhp/ton or @Hicap phill might have a better idea. Although not seen 300 for a while:(

Don’t worry about the bun fight :D:D or the popcorn reference :D.

So pretty much the same, not expecting to do many miles however I had two squeaky bum moments at only 40 mph. It was like a speed wobble which was really difficult to correct, steering in to the sway made it worse. The only way I could stop it was just to maintain the same speed and hold the steering wheel until it stopped. Felt like I was along for the ride

my 90 is standard height but on 265 x 75 x16 insa turbos and that runs fine on road or off road.

even over 60 / 70 mph when i am feeling brave it still is well in control.

So something def not right with yours..

my suggestion would be check tracking and castor etc and all steering & suspension bushes are good

Thank you, I think I am going to start with geometry first and steering box tweak.

@marjon
All I would say is I bet it sways like a boat..;)
@Mudhound
Push the side panels & see how much it rocks.normally if you have a speed wobble you have bad/worn bushes

good luck keep us informed
:D I fear my gut size may be having an additional impact on the motion :p. Will have a tinker once the snow goes, will let you know the outcome. Thanks

Hi, I bought an (86) 90 on Saturday which has Terrafirma long travel shocks with springs. It has rock sliders on and the stretch to get in is huge (I am 6ft). It looks to me that this is bigger than a 2" lift and I was wonder if it is possible to reduce the height, got a feeling it will be new springs (and shocks?). <snip>

That looks higher than 2" to me ?
Can you measure the length of the springs. I have +2" Terrafirmas on my 300tdi 90 and it doesn't look that high, although I do have different a wheel/tyre combo.
I'm just about to fit +2" to my new landrover too as they have been fine on the old one.

Just nipped out to check 13” front 15” rear

Apologies, you might have to explain that question to me

a block that goes between the axle and lower spring seats so that the vehicle is lifted by whatever thickness the block is.
The spring seat is usually bolted directly into the axle, can you take a better photo of the bit I zoomed in on in my post above this?

Is that any better?
