Hi
I need to fit a tow bar to my '03 TD4 and it has factory fit reversing sensors, has anyone fitted a flange style tow bar and does it interfere with the sensors?
Ta

Hi Mr K,
I had the same problem. Some say they go on with no problem others have had problems.
From what I read on here, the LR std bar with no frills (eg. bike rack mount) is ok but other makes that protrude further have been a problem?
Any add-on is definitely a move in the wrong direction - that don't mean it won't work for you tho'.

I went the safe route for a swan neck that is bullit proof BUT I do have a hefty lump of bolt on ironmongery for the bulldog when I'm towing the pikey wagon. (still ok for the sensors)
With the swan neck type it's just two bolts and whole ball and ironmongery comes off when not needed just leaving the 12N & S wiring tight up under the bumper.

Try placing a box or other item where the tow hitch would be, then put the car in reverse and see if the sensors pick it up. If they dont, you can fit the flange type.

Went one better, just got back from collecting towbar kit from MKeynes and got the lad to stand right were the hitch will go and it didn't beep... he was very trusting... :der:

update... towbar, hitch and twin elecs fitted and no probs with reversing sensors, just need to work out how to wire in the 12S socket now, 12N done.
