reverse problems

my landrover 90 keeps jumping out of reverse moves a few foot and then it jumps out, ive had a look in the manual and took the reverse gear plunger out and cleaned it and all that but still having the same problem. I want to replace the plunger but am finding it hard to find the bits does anyone no were i could get one or have any ideas as to the problem??? cheers chris.

I have a lt77 gearbox that i want weigh-in value for, you would have all the spares you could wish for

if going into reverse and jumping out reverse plunger has nothing to do with it unless you cant get gear stick all the way across, early lt77s have in built defect in that reverse gear does not slide completely into mesh with layshaft and synchro hub ,overe time rev idler gear edges wear to point where theres not enough left to hold it self in gear

thanks for the replys. It is a new gearbox time just priced one up from ashcroft transmissions for 445 plus vat, Can anybody recomend any were in tha lancashire area that supplies or reconditions them? cheers

Thats just down the road from me pal, absolutely no use in sorting your gearbox out though
