Reverse camera and sensors

Hi,

I'm just wondering if anyone has had any joy with fitting a wireless reverse camera to a disco 2 and how it's worked for them. I saw someone post about a wired on but it involved taking off the dash and I don't have the tools or room to do this (live in central London).

I'm thinking of using a iPad as my entertainment system so a wireless camera that goes with this would be great. Anyone used anything similar?

Why on earth would you want to fit a reversing camera to a D2 ? You have good all round vision and it's no longer than your average estate car, unlike a hatch back where vision is pretty much obscured.

We have a wireless camera in the trailer, two of them in fact, connected to the Discovery by a wireless link.

Works fine.

The ones we used were all on ebay, 28mm cameras, 2.4ghz transmitter receiver and a 7.5" monitor as we are using it as a rear view mirror.

This type of camera:

This type of radio set:

This monitor:
7 Inch TFT LCD Color Car Rearview Monitor Reversing CCTV Camera DVD+ IR | eBay

The trailer is nearly 8 metres long, the cameras are cabled to the front where the transmitter is located.

The receiver is in a plastic box with a power lead to the rear accessory socket and the video/power cable to the monitor.

Separated from the trailer we had 100ft coverage before the signal broke up.

We modified the monitor mount:

We are just about to change the cameras to new ones without the reverse guidance lines.

Ha ha indeed, I live in a square in central London with a school and am scared to death reversing when it's end of school hours incase a small human is around.

Also when the cheapest car on the street (apart from my disco) is a z4 I'm also concerned about reversing into a space just 2 feet longer than my car.

ive got a small monitor above the rear view mirror wiring is hidden under the head lining to the back to the roof rack
