I'm going to replace the fuel filter on my '95 Ford Maverick 2.7 TD.
Will I then need to bleed the fuel system, and if so, how do I go about it?

I have the R20 series Terrano manual on CD that everyone seems to have,
but I think my car may be different in this area.

Shouldn't be different.
Only the filter should need bleeding by opening a screw or exit pipe [from
memory there may be a plastic bleed screw on the filter head exiting
horizontally] and just pump using the filter head priming thing until fuel
free from air exits the bleed screw. It should start and run perfectly first
time.

Tell me about it! I've just replaced the radiator and had to fabricate
and weld in a new bottom bracket for it. One new fuel pipe and half an
exhaust. Finally for now (hopefully) it needs a service.

I still love the old tank, though :)

OK, thanks Huw, I'll give it a go.
