Replacement winscreen

Take careful note of what WAMMERS and BOB LYDON have said. I spent some time in the windscreen business and know that the profit margin is HUGE and determined haggling can save a LOT of money. For example a few years back I remember that a Defender screen on insurance, with the Land Rover logo was billed at almost £400. The same screen, from the same factory, but with the logo ground off could be fitted for under £200 cash, legitimately with a receipt. Obviously heaters tints, sensor mountings etc. bump the basic price up but never accept the first price quoted.

Every year I get quoted about £275 to replace the screen in my Merc Sprinter van and every year I end up paying about £85 + vat, fitted by a national company.
