Replacement tailgate

The tailgate on my 1996 Defender 90 has finally rusted to bits and needs replacement. I've been quoted £900 to supply, paint, assemble and fit a brand new one, which cause instant pain in my wallet. So I'm trying to source a decent second-hand replacement. Does anyone have one for sale or can anyone recommend places for me to try and source one? Many thanks for your help.

You could try putting a post in the wanted section in AG , it is a sticky near the top.

I am guessing you were quoted by either a main dealer or a non-specialist bodyshop who quoted you for genuine parts?
Pattern tailgates are available for a fraction of this and John Craddock is currently selling new genuine ones for under £200.
Add the cost of painting and you will be done for little over a third of what you have been quoted.
