Replacement second row doors

My second row doors are falling apart and are too far gone to salvage. I need to buy a pair of replacements. I've seen the galvanised skin ones which are the same price as the standard aluminium skinned ones at around £290 each.

I've also found some grp ones at £325.

Has anyone got any of these and if so are they any good?

Strangely the bottoms are fine. It's from the window frame Down on the catch side that's buggered on them. The thickest bit.

ah yeah mine have a massive crack there in a similar place.

Ive been snooting around the grp doors for a while but unsure how they will look once painted.

I guess by the time you have bought a pair and had them painted your starting to look at some serious pennies

I intend to keep my Landy for a good few years more and want to future proof it.

The paint job on my Landy isn't the best anyway. I've decided to Sort out the rusty bits as its beginning to look tatty in a couple of areas. Coach paint can be brushed, rolled or sprayed and still gives a shine. I figure that as I will be fitting a new rear crossmember i also want to sort out the bulkhead to ensure I get many more years out of the old girl.

Rather than repair the rear doors I may as well fit new. I just don't want to have to worry about rust setting in again down the line. I figure that grp will be good as it won't rust. I know that fire engine bodies and recovery spec lift bodies are made of it and seem to put up with the abuse.

Are you sure the steel can't be welded? There's not much there but a basic frame. Any decent welder should be able to sort it easily.

GRP is a great material, The main thing i want to see is how well all the internal fit in them for the windows and door locks etc.

I would need to buy another set of doors to replace mine while they are getting sorted out. I'd rather just stick new ones on and then repair my old ones at leisure later on. I could then sell them on and get some wonga back or refit them and keep the grp ones if I were to sell my Landy.

I have the green light from the ballast to spend money on new ones so hate to look a gift horse in the mouth.

must be a common area on the 110, cos mine have gone in the same place, and so has a mates :/
I really must get roundtuit before mine go completly too.
