The battery is dying on my old lap top I use for my EAS software. Do I try and replace it? or invest in a windows 10 tablet. I only use existing laptop for the EAS but I could use new tablet for other things as well is my line of thought.

I have been using my iPad for the last 10 years and find it much more convenient than my laptop. Unfortunately, Apple no longer support it and don't provide updates so new apps won't work. I bought my wife a Samsung tablet about 8 years ago and that is still going strong, I might by a Samsung next.

The wife has a Samsung and I got to agree I do like it. Will it work the EAS software OK?

Only tablets that run Windows OS will work with EAS Unlock. It will also need to have a USB Interface that can be configured by Windows. Bigger concern is the USB Driver for the USB-Serial cable. There are some people on here & RR.net that have got tablets working, but Buyer Beware.

Easier to buy a replacement battery for the Laptop that works !!

Its been finding a battery that's got me thinking about tablets. The laptop is really old and all the batteries are slightly different and at £40 to £50 a time I am not going to risk it The exact battery shows out of stock, not available from loads of sites I've visited

I have a Sony Vaio has a CD tray, Mrs has a HP tablet type much smaller and no CD, I prefer mine but the battery is knackered, if I unplug the charger you can see the level falling
but I don't use it portable so just keep it plugged in.

That's what I have without cd tray. It's doing the same thing so it's no good if on a long run and need to use it

I have seen replacement batteries on Amazon for £40 but, as I don't take it anywhere I can't plug it in haven't bothered.
EDIT Just had a look, the NinjaBatt one I looked at a while ago, currently unavailable.

You have to be a bit careful with replacement batteries, some look like original equipment but can burst into flames if left charging too long. I bought one from eBay for my old Dell and the battery gets noticeably warm to hot after a couple of hours. It was about half the price of a genuine Dell battery so you pay yer money and take yer chance.

I thought about that, and decided if I did get one I wouldn't leave it plugged in, once it was charged.

I keep one of these in my boot. Can charge my laptop or drill batterys or impact gun battery.

That's my worry as well, they all say they are copies

I recently bought a Huawei mate 10 pad thingy. It cost me 260€. 32gb and it'll make calls if needed.
Bluetooth to connect to my car and home stereo.
Big enough to write on without finger fumbles on the keypad.
And..... Flip.. I Forgot.....
