ok something has gone wrong. bled the brakes exactly as rave said and now the brake pedal is really spongy and can be pushed to the floor. drove it round block and brakes do work and just as good as before before but pedal has way too much travel in it.

changed all the fluid. flushed just under 2 litres. didnt get round to bleeding clutch. got too dark. gonna do it all agaain tomorrow and see what happens. there was no air going back into system. on fluid coming out of bleed screws. all was going well until i done the last front caliper with ignition on like rave says to do. drivers side was fine. fluid was coming out like usual. but the passenger side wasnt. came out on first press of the pedal but then i could see a bubble in the middle of the bleeding pipe and no matter how many time i pushed the peadl the bubble wasnt moving. from then on then brake pedal was very very spongy.

whats gone wrong???

I'm thinking If ya bled the brakes on yr own there's a very good chance you've got air in there. Certainly sounds like it.

i agree there air in the system. god knows how. theres no air coming out of bleed nipple. pure fluid. fluid tank was kept above min at all times.
dont understand how air has got into it.

It could be bubble of air locked in a bend or twist of tubing somewhere. You'll just have to bleed and bleed again I'm afraid. And Bromsgrove's right, its a two man job. Just bled mine an hour ago as put a mate to work who'd come around to loaf! :D
