from my own personel view in fitting a synergy box it has greatly improved my td4

with the box 40 mpg on a run

just had it updated and rechipped and waiting for it to come back

the flat spot leading up to 2000 rpm was gone

far more responsive

however ive got mine set up for max mpg and a bit of extra torque if i need it

it will have a switch on the dashboard, set up for eco and power

i know its a 4 x 4 and treat it accordingly

but of course thats my own personel view and dont know what everyone else thinks if theyve fitted a synergy box

however if u have faults on ur car on fitting one will as u rightly say make the situation worse

crypton days, now ur going back and the small glowing spark plug , lol

think weve moved on since then

Will deff have a good think about it, as the extra mpg is quite tempting I probably wouldn't be too bothered but my last car a 1.9 octavia did 50mpg so I'm feeling it haha

I know, I had a Pug that did 50 and it's a bit of a shock. But I knew it's mpg before I bought it and it's doing what it says on the can, so can't complain.
At the end of the day it's a big heavy car and 4x4, the Hyundai and Kia do even less mpg.
I guess it depends on your mileage. For me it would be a fuel saving of £65 a year, so remap would be much more.

It's a landrover, it isnt meant to do superstar mpg....

that is true but was just frustrating seeing everyone speaking about getting 37-40 mpg where I was struggling to get 30, but after giving it a service (oil, oil filter, air filter, crankcase fileter, turbo filter) and cleaning out inlet manifold and fitting a egr bypass its now getting between 34-37mpg (hard to tell as fuel gauge very unreliable) lol but u never know I might decat it yet!

using the fuel guage is not the way to check your mpg

brim it to the top at your usual petrol pump, then run it to nearish empty, refill at the same pump, to the same brimmed point and divide miles travelled on your odometer since your last fill up by the gallons you just filled up with.

Thats the only "reliable" way of checking your mpg.

Or if you want to know mpg quicker but not _as_ accurate - brim your tank, drive 100miles and brim it again. Then divide the litres used by 100
