Hi all

Thinking of whats going to happen after my hopeful diesel in sump situation and not revving past 2500 is fixed (i hope)
Next is EGR blanking, local garage wants (with me supplying the kit) without their charge for labour in fitting the blank, £100 plus VAT, to stage 1 tune they want another 300 plus VAT, if they cant do it without pinning the ECU, they want another ton,
do these prices seem right to you?

No egr blanking kit
Look at this on eBay http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/131885512226

Then call mike from dyno chips to sort out the ecu he will just swop yours for one that's chipped and program it to your injectors, jobs done. It will feel like a different motor the only issue you will have fitting the egr delete is if the bolts snap at the manifold end plenty of penetrating fluid every day for a week and get the engine hot before you try cracking them off.

Mike (Dynachip) did mine last month.... I'm still running the EGR, but that's next on the agenda. He comes to you, and basically it's a different engine once he's done. Doing the EGR afterwards doesn't make a difference to the map according to Mike, it just gets a bit better.... He also runs his computer over the engine to see what the current map is (mine was factory) and also that all the sensors are operating and also the fuelling (injectors running within tolerance). Really cant recommend him enough - thoroughly nice chap and a great service (you'll find the price compares favourably to what you have been quoted). I spoke to a colleague at work afterwards, and the following week he had his Defender done, and also his RR Sport - and can't believe the difference either. I believe some Td5's like mine (2004) can be mapped directly - older ECU's need a chip replacing.
