dont go by the colour - go by the diagram on the side.

Just pulled 2 of mine and the diagram clearly shows a resistor on the diagram, not an induction coil or diode.

Induction coil is what operates the relay, ie. the relay coil.

Yep it may struggle a little without an induction coil.

Swapped all relays for resistor version from Beal. No probs arising and red LED seems to have finally gone out.
Not sure if that's what helped as I also installed an extra earth from the alternator body as per Javars' post the other day.
