Hi all,
I'm in the process of refitting a refurbished galv bulkhead to my series 3, I started today and found that basically not much fits. I expected a little bit of warping due to the galv process but the main bulkhead bottom bolt holes were a good inch out, so had to carefully stretch it using a winch, also the holes for the footwell floors that the spire nut clip into were too far in so I had to grind out chunks to allow these to fit, some holes aren't even drilled and others haven't been cleaned of galv in the threads. Having a quick look around I'm pretty sure a few other things are going to cause trouble too. I haven't yet complained to the company who sold me this as I thought I'd check to see if this was the kind of standard experienced by others and if you just take the issues on the chin. I just personally expected a bit more attention to detail after spending the best part of £1100 and being assured beforehand that it will be rejigged and cleaned up post galving. I don't generally do complaining. Thanks in advance for any input. John
