Looking at the Land Rover green book, fitting a steering relay and track rods seems to be a fairly straightforward job.
Use plently of grease in the bore seems to be the obvious thing to do. I had to press the old one out of the chassis I chopped up.
Before I do it, are there any common problems that I should know about?
Does the shaft need to be in any particular position, or is it able to rotate through 360 degrees?
I am aware of the notch on one side of the casting and the alignment of the arms. This is all in the manual.
What is the "steering relay guard bracket"? This is mentioned in the manual, but isn't shown in the diagrams.
Thanks for any info.
