Morning,
I need to fit some recovery points to my 90, and want to use Jate rings as an easy option to replace the existing tie down points.
I have searched various forums and the consensus seems to be forged ones are better.
My queston is, do I need four (two front two back) or should I fit two up front as I have a tow bar at the back?
Also there was mention that the chassis is narrower at the back and you might need to pack a standard ring somehow.

One last one, recovery strops, have been looking on Fleabay and there are a number of types, lengths, ratings, any advise would be appreciated.
After seeing Odenne's cheap version giving way at Baldhu, I would like to get something reasonable.

Thanks

it weren't the strap that snapped, it were the cheap hooks on the end! I'd suggest getting straps without a hook and just looped at the end with some padding, i've replaced mine with this...

4x4 RECOVERY WINCH TOWING STRAP 5M OFF ROAD LANDROVER on eBay, also, Recovery Tools, Garage Equipment Tools, Cars, Parts Vehicles (end time 12-Apr-08 16:23:27 BST)

so hopefully when the chaps drive into the mire again we stand a chance of getting them out! (might have a go at the mire myself this time, poss from the other end!)

If you get some steering protection it is worth the coupla extra quid on the ones with recovery eyes built in, which is what i did (and recovered YOU with them!) and i think they're only £40 odd at Paddocks at the mo for the bacofoil ones. (which look OK!)

Craddocks do a nice steering guard with recovery points built in, they even give you 2 "D" rings with it, but not sure on their rating.
Two birds with one stone as it were :)
