Ok, so I have discovered a good chuck of rot in my lovely 300tdi bulkhead, par for the course I hear you say lol

Well it has prompted a little bit of a rebuild.

I thought others may be interested (tell me to sod off if you like lol)

So today I'm going to simply post my starting pics and will update as and when etc.

Looks ok (ish) in this first pic and that's exactly what I though it was.

Bulkhead!

Plans are as follows but don't pull me up too much if I don't do it all!

New galv bulkhead from Ashtree
New 2012 doors, elec window and central locking (wuss eh!)
New Raptor console
New (06 year) utility body
Tub
Sides with roller shutters
Roof
Rear door
Paint - Black and White
33 tyres

Am also going to fit out for overland trips
Roof tent
Shower system
Water tanks
Cooking facilities
Mains power

Winch refurb - currently warn 9.5xp (though may sell and replace)

Lots more too I guess but all I have in my head for now.

Chassis is believed very good but will see when all panels off

Uprated suspension +2 already recently fitted
Engine totally rebuilt just 1500 miles ago

Timescale? I want to do a week in the highlands in 4 weeks time!

What do you think my odds are? Lol

Any suggestions are more than welcome

Cheers

not a clue!! but let us know how you got on with the shower as i want to something like that with mine

Well, I have all the parts here now so it's just a case of doing it lol
Oh, apart from the water tank that is, having a custom one made.

Wings off tomorrow along with the bulkhead.

Chassis cleanup and paint (all very solid which is good)

Then just a matter of rebuilding and installing the extras I want

Sorry, only managed to start this weekend, so here are a few.

Just stripping down really at the minute

The body (or parts thereof) is for sale in the classified section if anyone is interested

It's not bad at all (except for the rear door!)

Running a little behind from what I want but the p,an is still to head to Scotland next Friday!

I have the new body arriving tomorrow and will start putting everything back together over the weekend.

Not sure I'll fit out exactly how I want things in time but then the first trip away will allow me to "discover" where I really want things and adjust when I'm back.

Will load more pics this weekend

Plenty of chance to try out the off-road credentials at the mo with all the snow
