I have tested with a multimeter, there is constant power to one wire even when ignition and wiper switch is off. The other wires are a black which is earth, and the other one has no power even when ignition is on and switch is on.

I take it that was the result at the motor end of the loom ?

and what was the result before it passes through the hinge part of the rear door/ tailgate?

Powered wire is park circuit fed from fuse 15. Fuse 15 also feeds relay 8 in BECM which switches rear wipe. With rear wipe switched on check for power at pin 7 of connector C325 to 1999, C1283 1999 or C1584 2000 and on. All same connector in same position on BECM. If no power at pin 7 relay 8 is duff. If power at pin 7 circuit to wipe motor from there needs checking. Orange/Black wire.

:behindsofa:

The problem could very well be in the Becm as non operation of the rear wiper is a classic sign (Well covered).
Another sign of Becm problems is spurious indicator bulb failure messages.

Mine would sometimes go slow or normal or just randomly stop. Top tailgate slammed down one day and its been fine since

My rear wiper wasn't working until recently....I braked and hit the horn when someone pulled out in front of me, the radio went off and the rear wiper started working again....
Been fine ever since. :wtf:

See who needs working gas struts! :D

Its on the todo list. I actually have 2 new struts in the boot need bigger ball joints for them though a block of wood does the same job. Its a safety feature keeps you alert and awake when the boots open. If it comes down hard enough you've got an excuse for a nap. Its not broken just adds to character haha

I have looked in the fusebox under the bonnet, and two of the relays are taken out of the sockets and laid on their sides in the box. Any ideas as to what relays are for what in the box?
