Rear wiper relay location 2003 Defender?

Hi, this is my first ever thread on one of these forum thingy's, hope somebody can help.
I have a 2003 Defender, just a basic hard top, it's got the centre consol with all the switches & radio, or in my case, bugger all switches just blanks! I have set about fitting a rear wiper / washer, I have bought a second hand wiper motor and connecting wiring loom / flexi conduit which turns out to be from a 2002 model, wires different colours & plug and socket don't match, no matter, I should be able to sort that.
The problem I have is there is no power to the two new switches I have bought that fit in the consol, I have found a wiring diagram that I think is correct which shows a relay, obviously missing, where is the relay located? I have searched everywhere but cannot find a relay socket waiting for a relay fitting!

A copy of the RAVE CD covering the 2002 Model Year Defender would help you to add/modify your Defender's wiring.

As well as the Wiring Diagram, it contains the Electrical Library, which shows connectors/components and their locations.

The Rear Wiper Relay is located on the Rear Door -





The Connectors/Loom for your Rear Wiper and Wash/Wipe Switches may (or may not ) already be in the loom behind your centre console, this is what you're looking for -

The wires to the rear of the vehicle may already be there. If they are, they should terminate at this connector behind the RH rear lamp cover -

Many thanks for your prompt reply, very much appreciated, the information you have supplied is very useful.
At work today I managed to 'persuade' my workmate to come and help sort it tomorrow afternoon, he is an electrician and very good with electronics etc, so, with your info and his expertise we should hopefully get it working!!!
