Hi all.

My rear wiper motor leaks when I use the washer.
I have taken the motor off and taken it apart.
I can see why it is leaking....it looks like an O ring /washer has deteriorated and dissapeared.
My question is this. Is there a fix for this or do i need to shell out for a new motor!!!

Many thanks..

Many thanks.

I have had a surf around and cannot find anyone supplying a repair kit.
Anyone help?
cheers.

Don, it said somewhere in the post that the repair kit was a dealer part but only if the motor isn't trashed through getting wet.

i'll see what the stealer wants for a kit tomorrow or will go down this route..
Motor is all fine..
cheers.

Yeah, it looks like a better solution although a repair kit will be easier. Common problem with precious little fixes out there. I'm sure within a couple of years, someone will have copied the repair kit.
I'd be interested to know what the kit comprises of as I have very good machining suppliers who may be able to make parts cheap.

actually my local RR main dealer laughed at me...repair kits sir...we don't do them.
you need a new motor £200+VAT.
I very nearly lost my cool...
Anyway Dan at Duckworth was very good, but no no such kit exists.

So I think I am going to use some plumbers tape, then a oil seal (2.60) off ebay and then some plumbers tape.
then put the pipe elbow back on with self tappers as per the link....
I'll take some photos and report back...If this works we will be all done for under £5 and about an hr.

Well....all done for under £5..
Purchased an oil seal as per link further up....£2.20..delivered off ebay..
This is actually the correct part you need.
As it is the part that fails inside the plastic 90deg elbow..
You need to pick the old one out and replace.
All goes back well I used some neater screws as I initially used Araldite but it failed without the screws.
Have taken photos of everything to show but need some help to put up on here....Sorry...I can't see how to do it!!

This is such an easy / cheap and proper fix....remember my local dealer offered a new motor complete when I advised him of what the fault was.
He offered in quite a sh11t manner, sir that will be a new motor, £220+Vat..we could do it in about with an hrs labour @ £140+Vat
So really..??.......£360+Vat...........come on.....£400!!!

Many thanks wazzjnr for your support....I'll upload the photos if someone can tell me how...

Well.my rear wiper has just packed up again.
any updates on this?
Wow, it was 2017, the last time I fixed it!

Well.
Stripped it down, cleaned, greased and reassembled.
All good and back up and working.
An hrs worth of work..
I'll plan to do this every three years as part of planned maintenence.
Cheers.
Liked the thread but you never put the pictures up! Perhaps you could find them and post for future generations of RR L322 owners. Cheers.
Tricky
