I got one of the official Freelander-1 Rear Window Guard kit to help my old hound this summer.
The instructions have use of little paper template that came in the kit, this template is used to punch the drilling points for the holding brackets so is quite critical to do it right.
Step 3 shows a Masking-Tape strip used to mark the horizontal in (this is not the template)
Step 4 - this is what confuses me. Is the top-right part this template just meant to go as far under the lifted-up rubber seal as it will go? If so I don't understand the step cut into the top-left part of the template. If I lay the template OVER the rubber seal to align with the top of it, the step matches perfectly with the bottom edge of the rubber seal (making me suspect that is how it's meant to be used?)
Don't want to drill metal until I know for sure.
Can anyone confirm how this template really is meant to be applied?
