2003 Td5 90 - to get rid of rear sliding window rattles - used 4m of Woolies 10mm single track window channel (Part No.50 - £6 per metre )

Woolies Trim - Window Channel

took a lot less than an hour to do both windows - no need to remove anything other than the old felt - had to snip 'v' sections out of the sides to go round the corners - silence other than when I hit the bigger pot holes.

Ent this stuff by any chance is it? Ha da quick look through the parts numbers and in the window assembly this is the only thing I could find:

MWC7620 - PAD - FELT
Hi Guys, I have been fighting to solve this rattling problem for almost a year and today I finally came up with a true fix that really works!!! I had purchased the same felt that you are referencing above but while this did quiet it down, it did not completely stop the rattling so I decided to have another go at it. I took our the window and disassembled it carefully removing the new felt and after trying a rubber that I had bought on amazon that did not fit well, I was determined to solve the problem without putting it back in with just the felt again, I was looking at it very carefully and observed that while the felt kept the glass away from one side it allowed the glass to make contact with the other side which was causing the rattle! That is when it suddenly hit me!! I thought to myself what if I cut a strip of thin rubber (I used a bicycle inner tube) the same width as the felt and place it under the felt, fold the felt in half and use a blunt flat bit screw driver to poke the rubber and felt into the track, the fit was amazing, so I did a quick test and realized that it was working perfectly!!! After completing the installation of the rubber and felt I reassembled the window and reinstalled it and NO RATTELS!!!!

If you leave the felt to rot for long enough, you'll find enough moss grows in the gap to stop any rattling. Gives your vehicle a bit of credibility too.
