anyone got a pic of a 110 rear shocker mount, went to sort mine out today, as i have play in the bush, but on closer inspection, the nut and washer arrangement won't fully clamp onto the bush, and will allow sideways movement, and presumably faster wear on the bush.

I compared it with the other side, and this has a different washer to hold the bush.
The good side has a mushroom shaped washer, that clapms agains the bush side.
The side at fault has a domed washer with a flat back that doesnt clamp agains the bush, and leaves about 1/8" movement sideways on it.
Ive bodged it for the minute with another couple of washers, which has alleviated most of the movement, but I want to sort it properly

When I replaced mine on the 90, the washers that came with the new shocks were nothing like the originals. I cleaned the originals up, painted them and used them. They were flat on one side and domed on the other.

I don't know why they make the washer combinations on shockers so complicated. There must be a reason

Sorry, mate. You can't really see what the washers look like on this picture.

I put mine on the wrong way around:eek: and for ages it wouldn't hold the bush properly and would always rattle and bang, eventually replaced the worn washers and put them the correct way around after a good look at the diagram on the parts list and replaced the bushes for polybush ones even though the shocks where fairly new, no more rattling now

if you are using long travel shocks, then the situation is different again...

It is very important for all + 5 inch LONG TRAVEL SHOCK ABSORBERS, the washers are used to centralize the shock in the shock mount, they help stop the pin of the shock absorber wearing the hole in the upper and lower mounts by holding the pin of the shock in the center of the hole, 2 per shock absorber are required, they are fitted only on the shock absorber side of the shock absorber mountings, on later rear axles the original cup washers are spot welded in by 4 spot welds, these must be removed as they restrict articulation and will cause the pin of the shock to brake off, once they are removed you can then fit new location washers (as pic) as they will allow more movement for the shock bush to flex.

please also note:
On the new Terrafirma Shocks I have, the washers are larger in diameter than the standard shocks used.

Good thread and, perfect timing, just doing my shocker mounts aswell..usual lake them off treat for rust paint new dampers bushes etc

Upon inspection I had four different washers holding them to the shocker mounts.....quality PO had this one

you could have four types, depending on type of shock.

eek......I was talking about the connection with just the shocker mount at the top....all sorts of washers. To be honest it seemed to work and I would do such a thing as a field repair but rectify later

However I always get a little befuddled trying to work out which washer goes where when it comes to dampers....and always refer back to a picture from the interweb
