Anyone done this! Any ideas for a fix?
Changing rear shocks followed the dreaded Haynes for Torque settings (125NM) and stripped the lower rear shock captive nut! As temporary fix am going to put in stock M12 bolt with lock nut from hardware store, Thoughts on safety etc?? Would anybody have experience of a how to fix this properly??

Cheers for the response and yes have spent morning with angle grinder and have fitted lock nut on temporary stock bolt while I source new pucker rated bolt. Thanks again.
Don't sweat it, I drove for miles with the top bolt on the nearside rear missing!
I then fitted a bolt and just managed to squeeze a nut in where it needed to go. It is still there. Thinking about it, I had previously done what you did and thought, "Oh, it's on enough!".
It wasn't!! 🤣 🤣 🤣

Now you’ve got me worried ! So do I just wait for the distinctive rattle of a loose shock mount 😂 or will I make a permanent fix?

Any body have the correct rear bolt torque settings? There must be a thread on torque settings for disco 2 ?

Have you now replaced it with a bolt and nylon lock nut? If so it's no worse than factory, the nut is welded on for quick assembly.
Tight will do it, maybe your torque wrench is no good?

Yes all replaced, two new terrafirma shocks now on, one with bolt and nyloc. Drives great, amazing what replacing 20 year old shocks does for the handling, although I will miss that familiar wobble and wander !!

Yes will add new torque wrench to list of bits to buy!
