Rear seat removal

Hi all

I have Disco 2 TD5 7 seater and I would like to know if its possible to remove the rear seats which are in the boot? If so any help as to how is appreciated!

Anything is possible, it will just be a case of looking at the mountings and getting the toolbox out.

One thing worth noting is make sure you talk to your insurance company! I know it sounds daft but I bought a new 300 recently and said to the insurer when putting it onto my policy about removing the rear 2 seats and was told that it was a modification that they couldn't cover!!

Yep had the same with my transit, had double bench seat i wanted to remove. told insurers who said the removal had to be carried out by ford and documented.

did it a couple of years ago so cant remember exactly. but it is quite straight forward. will need a bit of care when unbolting from the side support as it is spring tensioned.
often find that when talking to people in a call centre (re insurance) if you dont get the answer you want. ring back and you`ll get a different answer.

Sounds about right for insurance call centres, just make it up as you go along. That's what they do with prices anyway.

Incidentally, why do you want to remove the seats? Just for more space?
