It was all going so well, did the change put it all back together ran her up all good.
Then she sat for 4 months until this weekend when my Disco TD5 threw a head gasket.
Ok no problem, put 6 liters of new oil in the S3 and off we go .. no wait .. the oil pressure rose to like 100, WTF!
pulled over and a steady trickle of oil ran out of the bell housing drain plug.. like what?
Drove the two miles home and looked underneath while it was running.. no leak.
Switched off engine.. steady trickle for a bout 30 seconds.. err??
Checked oil level and its like full and I mean full to the top of the stick, yep I already had put oil in 4 months ago and now i put twice as much in..
So drained it off and now when its running no problem, if i dont drive it and switch it off no leak but if i drive it just a little and switch off i get a steady trickle for a few seconds and a few drops but it stops.
Before it was running out all the time so its in a better state than it was before i did the change of rear seal.
Does anyone think it will get better or am I indeed going to have to start again?
Drives nice though I must say and i have an old oild bottle that i slide under to catch what looks like half an egg cup may be less when it stops running ..
a bit frustrated ..
