Hi, recently bought a late '55 registered L322 and the lower half of the rear tailgate doesn't open via the switch on the top of the tailgate.
I figured out the manual catches down each side of the tailgate with your outstretched finger and have had the tailgate open. Have tried the switch with a multimeter and seems to be working fine. Have tried shorting the two wires to the switch to see if it opens but nothing and neither wire to switch shows any current so sounds like the feed isn't there. Tried to figure out fuses for the tailgate and am a bit stumped having only had a Defender loom to contend with previously!
Can anybody give me a clue as to which fuse it is, I had the rear drivers side panel off in the boot and looked around there and also the front fuse box behind the glove box and can't see any blown......there do seem to be a number missing though I suspect that's normal(?) the Owners manual states Fuse Number 16 in the boot space board (rated at 10Amps for Central Locking System, Tailgate) but the picture in the book looks nothing like mine!
Any help or advice that mean I don't have to take it to the dealer would be greatly appreciated.
thanks
Chris
