Rear flexi brake pipe question

Hi guys

I am about to fit a disco 300tdi rear axle to my 1988 90 2.5td ( 200tdi ) but not sure what fluid to use as on my servo it says DOT 3 what do you think

you could use dot 3 but dot 4 is more common now, dont use dot 5

dot 5 is silicone based, dot 5.1 is the upgrade for dot 4

Ive used it in bikes for years. Does it not agree with land rovers?

dot 5 is silicone based as compared to glyco based, the 2 would interact , dot 5 doesnt absorb water and so is used for long life ,but is less good with abs systems

yeh, got that. I used to flush through so only dot5.
