rear disk getting hot

I have a new problem

with the rear disc the driver side rear is getting hot.
I have taken it apart and checked the piston on the calliper and that looks ok, I have greased the pins, the pads look ok but I have different pad on each wheel / rear, would that be the problem?

Most likely cause is a sticking caliper piston.
If you jack the wheel up, can you rotate the wheel easily (after you've overcome the resistance in the diff) ?
If not, trying pushing the piston in.

Normally it's a sticking brake pads but could be a warped disc

I think you have answered your own question there.
Unless you have different calipers on each side the pads should be the same each side.

Had same problem last week on my rear passenger wheel. Bought 2 new discs callipers and pads for the rear wheels cost £150 all in my mechanic mated fitted them and told me the rear passenger side calliper was goosed. Problem is now solved

Do you think it’s a good idea to change the brake fluid? How log will it last before it needs changing.

Just had a look at new rear callipers, at last some cheap parts:5bhurray: you can buy new one’s for £30 is that right hope so

sounds about right mate,not very dear changed the 4 of mine couple of months ago,along with discs and pads,think the lot was under 200 squid and been perfect since,was easy fit aswell..
