I am thinking about fitting two forward facing rear seats from a Disco' 2 into a SWB Landrover.
I have been offered two seats from a breaker but the guy tells me that the brackets that they latch into cannot be removed.
I am guessing they welded into the floor ?

Ok, thanks for that. I will have to install some sort of latch in the floor.
Don't even know if they will fit. But I will get a seat and give it a try.

I had a set I always planned to fit in my 90. Lost count of the times I set one up and planned how I was going to make it work. I dare say it can be done, but I ended up binning the idea, and the seats. You will need mounting brackets on the wheel box to fit them to. You will also need something for them to lock onto on the floor, and seat belts !! I just didn’t think it was worth the hassle.

You know, I had forgotten about the seat belts ! A very important point.
It may be now dead in the water. Damn, wish I had asked first, I already ordered the seats. ☹️

Believe it or not the main reason I thought of the Disco' seats was so I could have them forward facing.
With seatbelts !
Me putting cart before the horse.

Still not impossible. Kit car builders often fit a roll bar or cage then secure the seatbelt mounts to it. Unless you want them to tilt, you could fit the bases through the floor to a bar of some sort welded to the chassis.
Peeps who build rally cars also have to come up with places to fit 4 or 5 point harnesses.
Don't give up, Percy Vere!!!

Percy Vere. Is he related to Percy Filth ? If you old enough to remember. 🤔😀

The main reason I thought of the Disco' seats was I thought it would be easier.
I will do some sort of trial fit first. But I am now thinking maybe minibus seats with the built in seatbelt ?
I wanted something that wouldn't be in the way when not in use.

The thing with retrofitting seats into the back of a 90 is they often end up very close together, such that it's difficult if not impossible to get in and out without folding one seat first. This is actually very dangerous as any seat from which you can't rapidly exit the vehicle in an emergency has the potential to be a death trap. If side-facing is unacceptable, then rearward-facing would be a safer alternative.

I did a trial fit and yes, they will go , the space between them is no less than when they where fitted in the Disco'.
But the work involved is, as others said, not really worth it.
I will revisit when I have time and look at the rearward facing option. Fitting up against the bulkhead may make fitting seatbelts easier.
