Rear cup holders

Don't know what happened but my rear cup holders seemed jammed in the armrest of the rear seat. Has any one had this problem and fixed it? I'd appreciate any help and guidance.

I slid 2 radio key things (metal) down the hole in the side did releases the cartridge from the arm rest so then i could get a good look at it, once out i could easy see the problem under neath theres a little plastic catch That had stopped working, i just popped it out, this in turn released the cup holder internals, then i refitted the plastic catch and there you go job do, place it all back in the arm rest and all working good now

I had a similar problem, in my case, the metal spring had expanded or similar and had come off the top of the plastic post and distorted, I fixed it by removing the spring, reshaping it in a vice the holding it in place with a cap on the post held in with some superglue (it makes sense when you see the inner workings). I did try to buy a new one, but they were obsoleted by Land Rover some time ago
