Hi, I had a rear crankshaft oil leak, so I stripped the engine to remove the rear main bearing cap and the flywheel etc. As per the manual I fitted the split seal complete with the spring first, then the top seal retainer, then the main bearing with the bottom seal retainer making sure the split in the seal was at the top. I put some instant gasket on the metal mating surfaces as well. Engine refitted still leaking oil. Engine stripped again. The seal had popped out of the retainers. The seal is still intact and not damaged in any way. Any advice on my next move would be greatly appreciated.TIA
