Changing the rear shocks as they’ve had it. The hole in the mount on the rear axle has worn to an oval slot.

is this the end of the world. I really can be assed to sort this right now?

I’ve heard some people welding in repair washers?

Weld in a washer or you can buy complete weld on brackets

110 front axle on mine. Got a thick washer from a farm supplies place, the outside diameter is larger than the bush cup contact area so no need to grind the weld. I cut it out using a short blade in a jigsaw.

Oh, if you just weld a washer on top you might find that the damper thread won't be long enough. There a bigger to get the nut started without adding extra thickness.

+1
Never understood why they don't make the thread a few mm's longer. Space isn't usually an issue. Usually resort to using the old lower bush in order to compress the upper one then switching the lower one over....or not! :(

Oh nice. I might just get some new brackets and pay a man to weld them on for me.
Washer works.
You may have misunderstood what I said? A repair like my pics above brings it back to original, IF you just weld a plate on top with a hole in it, the overall thickness is greater and you will struggle with starting the damper nut. It should or must be a flush repair or new mounts of course.
Washer is cheap, think it cost me 50p.

My mounts are brackets the attach to the rear axle so probably pretty easy to cut off and weld new ones on
