Hi, I have a 2000 TD5 Auto 2.5 that I bought at the start of the year.
It has slowly been losing power and now (when cold) it struggles to get up any hills. It also doesnt seem to change gears at the correct time (sometimes going up to 4000 revs.
It sometimes used to go into limp mode and it has increasingly happened over the past few months.
In a 10 mile drive the car went into limp mode 3 times. Once I turned the engine off and back on it was fine until it happened again and again.
I had the car read and it was showing that there was a problem with the air flow sensor so I bought a new OEM MAF sensor.
When that did not solve the problem I checked the intercooler to find that it was completely broken. I bought a new original part and replaced that.
The problem is still there with the high revs, low power and limp mode.
I have been told that the turbo is fine when I got the car read.
I've had it suggested that it may be the XYZ switch or low gearbox oil but this is way past my knowledge and replacing parts to try and find a fix is starting to get expensive.
Has anyone got any idea what the problem could be?
