Nah nah, you're alright mate honest
Agreed, I couldn't even chop this in at a dealers without feeling like a bellend
**** me sideways thats def a classic abused motor!
Just need to forget your conscience for 5 mins, I've had to do it before when i bought a pup
Oh and you can get the sills but not cheap
https://rimmerbros.com/Item--i-LR064259
Be easier to forget conscience if I'd been offered more than £1500 part ex
I'm hoping welder can sort it for less than £500!
You'd get double that at least banging it on eBay with the tin worm listed with photos
Hope I don’t mind asking but have U posted that over on the D3 forum
Fcuk me I would run for the hills!
You will have to take the compressor off for the welder to get in there.
When was the last mot?
Welders been, nice bloke. I used him to weld the gearbox x member on my D2 couple of years ago.
Outer sill is gone 2/3 of the way so he's gonna bend me a new section, let new metal in the inner sill where needed and patch those holes. £280
Round it off to £300 an keep him watered an it'll be golden
£280 to patch a sill and you have to make the cuts ?
Im in the wrong job !
The last discovery sill i patched i patched with a brand new inner and outer sill.
Reckon i should start taking on work like this if thats what it pays.
Come and do mine them, I'll pay you £10 and as much tea as you can drink. I think its reasonable I was braced for £350+
I asked if there was anything I can do to prep, I don't mind helping him and paying the man for the skill I ain't got.
Bit more to a D3 tbf
as major as taking out the entire sill of a D1.
