You should be able to open them without saving to a disc.

I have a folder on my desktop,
"Rave"
Inside this I have the individual folders for each of the Rave files, I have not downloaded microcat.
"Rave01""Rave02""Rave3" inside each of these is the respective rave download. Click on the LR logo icon and the rave file opens.

When you right click on the iso file does it not give you the option to mount the drive or something?

The rave folder you showed in the previous photo.
Click on the Discovery freelander folder.
Scroll down in the folder and click on the green LR oval. That opens Rave on mine, but it does use Adobe acrobat.

OK, I am going to download Rave01 to my desktop.
First I am going to make a new folder on the desktop, ( called "Ravenewfolder" )
Then I open the link as given above and double click on the rave01.iso link.
This shows asa download on the bottom of the screen total download is 609Kb.
After 3 mins it is downloaded.
Show it in destination folder.
Move file to folder on desktop
right button click and extract to "Ravenewfolder" folder on desktop.
The file will extract to the "Ravenewfolder" in desktop.
Click on the folder
Click on the "Discovery II freelander folder "
Click on the green LR logo'
Voila.

If its of any use, I burned an image of the .iso file to a CD first. That way I have it in a format I can use on any machine.
The downloaded copy of RAVE does use Adobe Acrobat, but its the version incorporated with it, it doesn't use whichever version of whatever .pdf reader you have installed.
