do you have problems with cooling when thats on
It's a cover to restrict flow through the radiator. It's primary purpose is to keep your engine warm in cold climates. It also helps keep mud out when offroading. Mine is black so doesn't show up to well but I have included a piccy of a green one for you.

I'm fitting the Muff come winter time, when organising to switch out my Thermostat last week I discovered the TD5's got 13 Litres of coolant running round it. No wonder it takes a fortnight to warm up. LR want £7 per litre of Antifreeze and at a minimim 50% mix it comes out at bloody £50! Bloody halfrauds pre-mixed stuff only goes down to -32 deg C, which aint going to help me much in the Artic. Antifreeze used to be simple...
