This might be me being a tight Yorkshireman, but has anyone rattlecanned there defender and actually had good results?

Aren’t rattle cans quite expensive for what little product you get. Suspect folk have achieved better results with a brush and some wet and dry.

Some on here have got good results from brush and rollers

Unless you are trying for a concourse finish (probably not attainable from a can anyway), but they were never that out of the factory.
Rattlecans sounds an expensive way to be honest, for a fender to get all scratched up down a lane

Rattle cans are a very expensive way to buy paint ...

Mine was resprayed silver however I’ve no idea what shade it is and also it’s been done poorly , so I was looking to repaint it however money is a limiting factor

Hi look on blue tube title the best rattle can respray ok for panels you can get a fair finish two pack lacquer also available in cans but whole Lr would be too much TY

It's not what I'd do, but plenty get a cheap compressor, a load of 2k paint, and attempt to hold their breath (or somthing).
Breathing kit for 2k will cost you more than the compressor and the gun together.
Again, plenty of chances on YouTube all kitted up with raptor and a paper mask. I guess they don't die that quickly.

I live on a farm so have a dust mask and a big compressor but didnt know how tricky it is to do
Doing an S2 just now used filler primer first then 2-pack mixed 2-1 with a splash of reducer and an HVLP stanley gun...you can also go for a satin finish or gloss when you get it mixed...have a practice with a cheaper paint to get used to gun...far easier than cans...

Why use filler primer , what’s it do compared to regular primar
It's thick and really covers sanding marks and flats back evening out slight imperfections also any bare alloy prime with an an appropriate acid etch sothat the primer sticks...

You want forced air mask for 2K, not a dust mask. Your lungs don't take kindly too it. Worth reading up on it.

Ive had cracking results with brush & enamel paint, I painted my mates series 3 not a brush mark
to be seen.
A trick for brushes is to run a bead of super glue just below metal ferrule where the fibers are let it soak down and it stops loose fibers ruining finish...
It's fine. Farms neutralise dangerous emissions. I mean, you can burn anything on a farm too, and it doesn't hurt the environment the same as if you burnt it somwhere else.
I'm sure a dust mask is pretty much overkill in that sort of environment.
Maybe just do the whole thing in raptor with a Shultz gun too?
(to the op - if you care about your health at all, as I said before, the breathing kit will cost hundreds - maybe around £150 for the filters and the same again for the mask? Or use a non isocyanate... Epoxy primer will do most of the work, and, whilst you don't want to breath that in either, you're more into surviving the "dust mask" territory with that, and then just put a non isocyanate over the top?)
If you do do it with a Shultz gun, raptor, and a dust mask make sure you take some video for YouTube - the kids love it.
A tin a decent enamel, either coach or tractor/machine, and some gloss rollers is all you need for decent paint job. I have done both my series and my 110, and am in the process of doing the 110 again after a fire. Far cheaper than rattel cans, far safer than a compressor a 2k and far easier than trying to spray non 2k paint.

As above, synthetic enamel tractor paint. Smooths itself out well and is
tough [ needs a couple of weeks to fully harden ] New door last year.
