They would have a job to remove mine, the bolts are rusted solid into the swan neck.
There are no bolts attaching mine it slides in and is held by a catch. Stores in tool tray in boot when not in use.

I think ours are different mate. What you are describing is like mine with some large through bolts holding it in place. Think I can see a catch on the right side wammers is on about

Look at RAVE accessory fitting instructions for STC8939 detachable tow bar. That is the same as mine. It is just unclipped a cover fitted, and swan neck is then stored in boot accessory tray. That is the expensive tow bar. The one with the bolt through it is the poverty model. The photos supplied by Dandor 1986 does have the QD bar fitted that is why i advised him to remove and stow it.

A lot less likely to be nicked though. The QD ones are out of production as far as i am aware, they are as rare as hens teeth to find a replacement for if lifted, they only take a few seconds to remove.

True. Don't think anyone is going to nick mine although I do enjoy that there is less to go wrong. Must get a new tow hitch cover as mine was pinched thoughA lot less likely to be nicked though. I think you'll be hard pressed to get a reply. Someone woke a thread that had been in deep sleep, for two and a half years. The OP hasn't been seen since he was told his vehicle wasn't rare or special.

Registered Feb 2000, so may have sat unregistered for a while, so 1999 build? Would that possibly explain tail lights? I know I've had crossover models on other marques and some bits were previous model, some were the latest.

Doesn't look anything special about that to be honest. Remove the detachable tow bar and put it in the boot before before some tea leaf has it away, they are hard to find.
I removed mine to stop me whacking my shin on it!!
