Rapid kerchunk sound on acceleration

So very recently in my Freelander Auto, but not all the time, I‘ve had a rapid kerchunk-chunk sound when pressing fairly full on the accelerator. When super smooth (slowish) on accelerator it doesn’t happen. It was a tad alarming…

They can be changed without dropping the subframe, just remove the other 2 and the diff will move enough to wiggle it out. Don't skimp unless you want to replace them every couple of years.
 
Two more things.
1. Front diff bush is sometimes an early warning of VCU getting tight. Worth doing the one wheel up test. Search on this forum if you don't know it.

2. If VCU is OK then worth considering a Poly front bush as they will last 5 times as long as a rubber one with slots in. They simply press into the old alloy mounting bracket that comes off with the rubber one.
