Rangy V8 engine into a 90

I have just bought a 3.5 EFI V8 engine which came out of a 1989 Range Rover. The engine will be going into my 1989 LR 90 Pick-up (petrol 2.5)

Will this engine mate up to my gearbox (LT77 i think?) without a problem and will I have to alter the engine mounts?

Might have to alter the mounts, not sure about the box, don't think any of the RR had the LT77 though.

Lt77 was used from 1983 MY to 1994MY in the RR!!

Oh really? I didn't think it would have been refined enough for RR's.

It wasn't really - but that's what BL had floating around and they were strapped for cash.

Disco used it too from 89-94.

Ah right I see...Then they brough out the direct replacement that was the R380 I guess.

you have to alter the mounts. i am doing this but the other way round. i am putting a diesel engine into my V8 90. i have to get a different gearbox and move the mounts.
