i have just bought a 1995 p38 when changing gear normally between 1st and 2nd the throttle will go but comes back when you dip the clutch also the engine check amber light flashs the one that looks like a injector but when it not doing this its seems to run nice and smooth no other worries if anybody out there has herd of this before please let me know as i am new to the range rover and need help

I have the same problem with my 1998 2.5 TD BMW Engined Range Rover. And I've had it for almost a 1 1/2 years now. I've just got used to it. Plus nobodys ever been able to tell me exactly whats wrong with it.

Mines been good through the summer though. But the last couple of weeks when the weather has started to drop off in tempture. Its been doing it again.

But I just take my foot of the gas and back on again and it goes away. I don't do anything with the clutch. But the problem will come back until its Hot then it never happens again untill the next cold morning.

I also get a problem when the cars hot and has been for an hour or so. When I pull up at a junction, etc. The idle drops right off and the whole car shakes. Not sure whether its related or not. Other than that it drives really nicely.

Sounds like you've got problems with the duel mass flywheel. It's a very common problem and is very well documented within these pages. Put a search in for duel mass flywheel and I'm sure you will recognise the symptoms.

the shaking at idle could be the duel mass flywheel but the throttle problem is most likely a fuel quantity control problem. get a diagnostic done then post the code for us to see.
