I have very old tubed Goodyear Hi Milers on my 88 Series 3 which are so cracked that I have to replace them. The question is with what? The replacements must look right and I was looking for Avon Rangemasters but I don’t seem to be able to find any for sale new. Are they discontinued? If so, what about the Michelin versions?

Avon finally closed manufacture in the UK a few months ago. It’s a tyre I’ve always used and I will be in need of new rubber shortly. I was hoping they are still available but I haven’t looked as yet.
I haven’t got a clue what to use as an alternative but I’m sure one will come up that isn’t modern looking.

I have a pair of truck tyres on the front axle at the moment that were gifted to me with the wheels. They were destined for a trailer that carried portaloos round events but the garages customer never came back for them.
I only put them on as I wanted to refurb the wheels but that’s another job I’m waiting to get around to.
They are an oriental flavour but can’t remember the name.

Are you looking for 6.00 x 16, 7.50x 16, or a metric size?

Tubed Michelins, with tubes, you are talking a lot of money for five wheels.
We are more or less in the same position, although I think the G90s on our Series will hang on for a while, it doesn't get much use.
I think I would like to get onto tubeless rims and tyres when we make the change, they are generally considered to be better, and save the expense of the tubes.
But if you want to stay with tubed, another option is Security 7.50x16. They are Chinese made, but do look the part, and people I have spoken to don't seem unhappy with them.

The Deestone look nice. I doubt the extra noise will make any difference in a series. Not bad money either £660 for five.
