Range Rover Vogue Stuck In Low Range

My 56 plate Range Rover Vogue seems to be stuck in low range, the switch doesn't seem to be responding. Is there any way that I can by-pass the switch to get it back into high range?
Annoying isn't the word, Christmas period = long delivery times for the part and garages shut
 
Put some clipped wires on a battery then connect them to the side of the transfer box connector.
It will power each way with swopping around the direction of power.
If you would rather do it manually then remove the unit and inside is a selector you can turn with a screwdriver.

I did indeed, it’s been a new purchase and I got excited

They do get sticky if not used, and many don’t so hence your problem.

I am not really familiar with your year, but am sure there is a fuse that can be put in which puts it into neutral then when you take it out it may default to high.
you could try it a few times, are you trying to change back to high correctly. Mainly gearbox in neutral and brake on ? They all seem to have a sequence do you have the manual it should be explained in there.

The procedure is in here

1. Secure the towing attachment from the
recovery vehicle to the front towing eye of
the vehicle to be recovered (see ‘TOWING
EYES’, page 246).
2. With the parking brake applied, insert the
starter key and turn it to position ‘II’.

Your vehicle has permanent four-wheel
drive and is fitted with a steering lock. The
following instructions must be carried out
carefully to prevent damage to the vehicle.
CAUTION: Leaving the starter switch in
position ‘I’ or ‘II’ for extended periods will
put a draw on the battery, which can lead to
a voltage drop and ultimately to a
discharged battery.

3. Place the gear lever in ‘N’ (neutral).
4. Turn the starter switch to position ‘0’.
5. Insert a fuse (5 amps) into position 37 of
the passenger compartment fuse box (see
‘PASSENGER COMPARTMENT FUSE
BOX’, page 250).
6. Turn the starter switch to position ‘II’. The
transfer gearbox will automatically select
transfer neutral - wait until the message
center displays ‘TRANSFER NEUTRAL’.
7. Place the gear lever in ‘P’ (park).
8. Turn the starter switch to position ‘I’ (DO
NOT turn the starter switch to position ‘0’).
NOTE: The transfer gearbox is now in
neutral and the steering wheel is unlocked.
The vehicle MUST remain in this condition
whilst being towed on all four wheels.
9. If required, the starter switch may be
turned to position ‘II’, to operate the brake
lights and direction indicators.
10. Release the parking brake before towing
the vehicle.

Thank you, it does have fuses missing and blown (rear heated seats don’t work & none of the cigarette lighters work)

Will it default back to hi when the fuse is removed though?

Fuse 37.

might be worth trying to calibrate the shift control motor.

Also putting a fuse in position 37 renders the parking pawl useless so make sure you have the handbrake on when fiddling around, don't want the car fooking off on ya. :)

Thanks for letting me know, don’t think it would be amusing trying to chase a Range Rover down the road 😂 however the high to low switch isn’t responding
