I've got a 2.7 sport that cranks for ages when cold
If you turn ignition on and off a couple times it starts better
Glow plugs are good
Cranks fast enough
Battery good
Turn ignition on and get fuel through the shrader valve

Any ideas

That would indicate that your glow plugs are not as good as you think they are.

How do you know they are good? did you take each one out a see if they work like they should? soumds like you got either bad glow plugs, or harness is bad or the timer or all 3

New rebuilt engine so no low compression
I personally removed all 6 glow plugs and tested them
All 6 work!!!!!
No codes in system
Glow lamp stays about 5 seconds
