Sport Range Rover sport dreaded EPB error

It doesn't make any difference if it's an auto or manual.

If I was you I'd bite the bullet & replace the EPB module as well. Renew the lot

Hi Everyone ..
Had a few hours spare this afternoon so I decided jack up the rear of the RRS and put it on the axle stands.
Planning to order what I need with regards the rear brakes after todays inspection.
Firstly the pads are worn and the friction side is cracked.
Wound back the nearside adjuster and removed the disc...shoes look fine with no uneven wear and plenty of life in them.
The offside adjuster did not seem to move but the disc came off OK and the shoes are same as nearside.
On closer inspection the adjuster had seized so I imagine that was cause of the EPB failing?
Couple of mull grips and some wd40 it is now unseized.cleaned them up as much as I can but was thinking of getting new adjusters just in case the old ones seize again
Will order new discs and pads then go from there.
I also managed to get hold of a sealey epb reset tool...
I am not a 100% sure the emergency release cable under the switch was pulled does anyone know if their is a way of checking without opening up the module?

Hi All..
Now have an update on my broken epb.
I replaced the rear discs and pads and checked out the rear shoes which still had a lot of life in them so cleaned them up and adjusted them with the discs back on.
Next I went about getting to the EPB module which is accessed by first removing the spare wheel and then the bracket holding the EPB.
2 bolts at the bottom of bracket on either side and then 2 nuts up top holding the EPB to the bracket.
You can then unhook the EPB and remove the bracket.
Access is made easier if you twist it around so the front with the hex screws is facing the back of the car.
With the screws and front cover removed I inspected the mechanism and the emergency cable had not been pulled so both ends were still connected.
With the battery disconnected I tested the motor by connecting 12 volts to the terminals on the EPB motor and it pulls the cable to put the brake shoes on when wires reversed it released the brake shoes.
Unfortunately when all back together I still have the park brake fault flashing up on the dashboard and no response from the handbrake switch.
I did buy the Sealy EPB tool but this did not clear the error message off the dashboard.
Can anyone confirm if I need another diagnostic tool to clear the fault or if the circuit board is faulty inside the EPB?
Looking at lots of different diagnostic testers out there but not sure which one will clear the error message if that is what is stopping it from functioning.

Purchased a icarsoft lr2 diagnostic kit and it came up with code U2002 which is communication problem between EPB switch and EPB module..already swapped out switch..so proceeded to trace and check the wiring from the module plug.

FIXED.. The fault was a broken wire about 6 inches from the plug in connector at the EPB. Stripped back the tape and the plastic conduit to give myself some room to piece out the broken wire (also replaced another one that had stripped insulation and looked like it may break soon). Re-taped the wiring and wrapped some old garden hose around the wiring for extra protection because it looks like it wears either side of the EPB bracket. Wish I had bought the icarsoft tester sooner would have saved me buying a second hand module but looking on the bright side I have gained the knowledge how these work.
