Range rover P38 tailgate

Hi. I've recently purchased my P38 and being 16 years old it has a few age problems. My main concern at the moment is my tailgate lock. Well it doesn't. All 4 doors lock on the fob but only with a clunk. No alarm sounds. I can open my tailgate and shut it again and all I get is flashing hazard lights. Have tried key locking it and that only operates the drivers door. Have also sat inside and locked the doors and no warnings are displayed. Is this the actuator? Thanks

Hey there, maybe a failed locking motor on the tail gate? Strip out the lower tail gate panel and climb into the boot and have some body lock the car for you and observe the button from inside to see if it functions or not! Bit of a faf but could give you an idea of what is going on.good luck

It sounds like your drivers door latch is faulty. the tail gate actuator grounds through the drivers door latch contacts. a good indication is that the key in the door doesn't work the CDL.
