Its a list...but when you think about it when grouped into tasks that can be performed together....

1) Rear Suspension Bushes
2) VANOS, Timing Chains/Guides, SAI Pipework, PCV Valve, Breather Hoses, Oil Seperator
3) Gearbox service, Engine Service, LPG Service

So is not too onerous...just lots of parts and a bit of time!

Very true, lots of parts that's the scary bit. Let's finish with the January blues first and then onwards and upwards or driving forwards at least. ;)
 
#1 Top end refresh
#2 Rebuild my Current Transfer box - New morse chain and VCU. - current one sounds like a Skeleton wánking in a biscuit tin
#3 Fit the newly rebuilt "by me" ZF4hp24 i have in the shed ;)
#4 New universals
#5 New radius arm bushes.
#6 Replacement airbags
#7 BFG AT2 tyres
#8 Autobiography wood kit, not really necessary but would be nice to have
#9 replace the HORRIBLE lightstone carpet.
#10 New headliner
#11 Sunroof casette needs replacement
#12 partial respray - rear 1/4 and bonnet minimum
#13 split charge system
#14 Alternator is grumbling, needs a new one
#15 transmission oil cooler lines and the Oil cooler itself
#16 Power steering lines,
#17 ball joints
#18 EBC brakes all round
#19 ABS accumulator
#20 ABS sensors
#21 rear bumper and mounts need replacing
#22 Driver seat is worn out, needs a new 2nd hand one.
#23 completely rework the sound system
#24 re seal the rear 1/4 windows.
#25 replace the passenger side window regulator
#26 Air con fans are seized solid.
#27 New MAF
#28 IACV needs cleaning or replacing
#29 HVAC unit needs a new display
#30 blower motors need replacing "already have them"
#31 LPG needs servicing
#32 dents need pulling out.
#33 dynamat the inside, it rattles like a bastard.

Beat all that ****..

  • Front brakes need attention at some point. New pads/slider pins
  • Another engine oil service with new sump plug
  • Manual box oil change as last time was the pre-to-service change, with new plug if old one will come out. If not this job is done enough as it is :D
  • Cut hole in boot and fit a tank pump, maybe new clear pipe
  • Clean up side sills underneath
  • Get some ATs as I do more road use now
  • Dealing with usual catastrophic failures as and when necessary
 
hi, i would like to get my p38 4.6 gems 1996 started ,it has a recon engine done last year ,but wont start, it is in outside storage,at rye wharf rye east sussex, when better weather arrives ,but i would like some help,will pay going rate to fix,as i have tried every thing and more,and would be delighted to drive it again,thanks
 
Replace all bushes, including rear A frame ball joint.
Replace all body/chassis mountings.
Change the anti freeze.
The usual fluid/filter changes.
Get a new set of boots on her, plenty of tread on the old ones, but now getting old and I want a more road biased pattern.
Maybe look at uprating the alternator.
